The Cars
What is a Sports Compact?
If you have a sedan, coupe or hatchback production closed car that has an engine size of up to 2.5 litres, then your car qualifies as a Sports Compact car.
All cars are required to comply with Motorsport Australia Sports Sedan rules; but with engine capacity limited to 2.5 litres.
Sports Compacts can have the same refinement as open Sports Sedans but at vastly reduced cost.
Some cars have custom built space frame chassis with a fibreglass silhouette body, but most are highly modified production cars that retain the original floor pan.
Classes include 1600cc, 2.0 and 2.5 litre plus restricted forced induction.
Which engine can I use?
When choosing an engine, you can use any production engine that is under 2 litres in capacity. You can swap manufacturers, so you can put a Ford engine in a Nissan, if you like.
